Strategic Observations

Since 2008, the principals of RYS & Co. have witnessed and have been a part of the recent once-in-a-century changes that have taken place in how we do business in America. Due to these harsh circumstances, many companies were unfortunately not able to achieve their financial targets. How companies do business has changed significantly which caused companies to think and act differently.

According to Price Waterhouse Coopers, companies will need partners with the skills and experience to work alongside the business to influence, design and execute business strategy and planning. Business partnering requires the ability to understand both finance and business realities, to challenge decisions, and, in many ways, act as a business consultant.

RYS & Co. management has obtained data that states that more than $10 trillion in private and family businesses in North America will be sold in the next decade as aging baby boomers move on to the next phase of their lives. Selling all or part of their businesses is one of the most important decisions they will ever make.

Management has also read a study produced with the cooperation of the Royal Bank of Canada that observes, “The details may be murky, but the broad outlines are clear. Raising capital has become a contact sport. Companies will have to look farther, dig deeper and work harder to lock in the long-term capital that fuels growth. The lessons of previous downturns are still valid. Investors require balance-sheet strength and access to liquidity; borrowers need to lower expectations and accept higher costs. At the same time, a world in flux can be a world of opportunity. Creative approaches to capital raising are abounding.”

It is these observations by leading industry experts that encouraged and convinced RYS & Co. executives to organize Public Holding Companies to take advantage of strategic as well as opportunistic acquisitions.

RYS & Co.’s Management has strategic and proven relationships with a team of veteran executives who have a unique combination of private investment banking and hands-on operational experience. The Company’s management team has the proven innovative knowledge, skills, and contacts through many years of successful experience in negotiating, structuring, and executing multiple unique transactions. The average business and operational experience of each member of the management team is over 30 years. Senior executives have completed more than 100 transactions.
